It’s fall again, which means it is the best time of year for someone whose closet is mostly sweaters and jackets.
All of my classes are online this semester (by choice, I’m not going to get sick by people who insist on clubbing during a pandemic) which means I have practically nowhere to regularly go beside my internship, but I decided to make this fall lookbook because my Quarantine Lookbook was my most read post for a while and I had fun doing it.
As always, clothing has always been a way that I express myself and it makes me more comfortable in my skin, so here’s what I *would* wear if Fall 2020 was a normal semester in my senior year.
The main themes you’ll see that I like are jackets, neutrals/earth tones, and booties.
The Denim Jacket, but Make it Less Basic
The denim jacket with black jeans and white sneakers combo is a classic, but way too predictable. If campus was functioning as normal, you’d be sick seeing how many girls wear that combo with a crop top to parties (I mean do you boo, but still). My outfit is a twist to that trend by swapping out the t-shirt and pants (one less article of clothing to pick out). I wore it with a beret because my trip to Paris this summer got canceled, so je suppose que je vais le porter maintenant (I guess I’ll wear it now).
Bringing Back Old Trends
Moto jackets are back?? Listen, I never cared for moto jackets back when they were popular circa 2014 in that whole black Tumblr aesthetic/ grunge/ Arctic Monkeys phase, but I’m here for it now. I like it in this suede nude color because it doesn’t scream “I like alternative music” in the way a black leather one would, but still has that edginess, you feel? Paired it with a white tee and white booties to contrast the black jeans.
Turtle FUCKING Necks
Let’s gooooo! I love me a good turtleneck sweater. 10 year old me never thought I’d see the day.
Here’s two ways I like to style it.
Here, I’m wearing earth tones like olive green in the jacket and these honey mustard-brown colored trousers.
Or, you could dress it down by wearing all black and adding a pop of color. Warning, you might get followed by bumblebees in this bright yellow jacket for Missguided.
When I Don’t Feel Like Getting Dressed
Last, but certainly not least, here’s how I leave my house when I didn’t want to leave my house in the first place. For my bummy outfits, I always make an effort to wear nicer sneakers to make the look seem intentional.
Camouflage is a print that never goes out of style, but it especially reminds me of fall days in high school. I’ve paired these two-toned cargo pants with a gray hoodie and my J’s for an effortless, breathable fit.
I also love me some trench coats. I’ve paired this heather gray (do y’all say gray or grey?) trench coat with an all-black fit: a hoodie and leggings, with the J’s for a little razzle-dazzle to make people think you can dress.

Carpe Diem Question: I feel the most productive each day by making sure I walk out of the door feeling confident in my skin and clothes. What do you/can you do to start your day with productivity?
